Newly established
DreamLink Foundation announces inagural Holiday Initiatives
Florida-based organization mounts plans
to aid hurricane survivors during special events in November,
December; foundation’s
advisory board includes executives from Pfizer Inc. and
The Executive Leadership Council
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (October
18, 2005) – With hope
at an all-time high in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and
Rita and other national issues, executive Lamont Graves
announces the establishment of The DreamLink Foundation.
Its mission: to connect people with their dreams and turn
their hopes into action.
Embarking immediately on that mission, the DreamLink Foundation
is mounting two upcoming events: dates/details here
The DreamLink Foundation is the
fulfillment of Lamont Graves’s own dream. He is
founder and president of OnSite Meeting Management. In
the 12 years since he launched Florida-based OnSite,
the company has become a leading provider of meeting
and event services. Its client roster includes such Fortune
500 companies as the
Executive Leadership Council, Cell Therapeutics and the
Boca Raton Community Hospital.
In the wake of his business success,
Grave began devoting his personal resources to helping
others’ dreams
come true. What started with holiday dinners and gifts
for 20 underprivileged local families mushroomed last Christmas
into gift cards for 800 children in four additional locales:
Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles. In turn,
that laid the groundwork for more large-scale outreach:
the DreamLink Foundation.
“The more I’m blessed, the more I can pass
those blessings on to others,” says Graves. “Touching
people’s lives to help make the world a better place … it’s
just something I feel I need to do. A hurricane survivor’s
placard I saw on television says it all, ‘Without
hope, there is nothing.’”
Graves’s calling arises out
of his own childhood as a disadvantaged youth in Philadelphia.
Beyond providing hope for underprivileged families, the
year-round mission of the DreamLink Foundation includes
programs targeting at-risk and abused minority high school
students. To accomplish this, Graves has engaged a distinguished
advisory board whose members include Executive Leadership
Council President Carl Brooks, Precise Communications
President Jerome James and Pfizer VP Leslie Mays. Graves
and the board are currently seeking additional corporate
sponsors to underwrite these and other DreamLink initiatives.
